National Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome Awareness Week, 2 – 8 March 2026

News

Monash University’s Aplastic Anaemia and Other Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes Registry (AAR) and the Australian Marrow Failure Biobank (AMFB) are proud to support Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision’s National Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome Awareness Week.

The AAR plays a vital role in advancing our understanding of bone marrow failure syndromes by collecting information on diagnoses, treatments and clinical outcomes for people living with these conditions in Australia. Expansion to New Zealand is underway in 2026.

Today, the registry houses data on over 650 patients from 38 sites across Australia. Together with the collection of biological material through the Biobank, these are key national research infrastructure to enhance research into BMFS.

The AAR and AMFB welcome interest from clinicians, researchers, and collaborators across Australia and we extend our appreciation to Maddie’s Vision, and the individuals and families whose contributions make this research possible.
